Contract AI Developer / GenAI Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced AI Developer who can quickly learn new technologies, understand business challenges, and build high-impact AI proof-of-concepts (PoCs) that can be scaled into production-ready solutions. This is a hands-on development role focused on building modern AI applications using Large Language Models (LLMs) and GenAI technologies while collaborating closely with engineering, product, and platform teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions from proof-of-concept to production.
- Build and enhance AI applications using LLMs, RAG, vector databases, and agentic frameworks.
- Collaborate with product stakeholders to rapidly prototype, validate, and refine AI solutions.
- Participate in hands-on development, experimentation, and productization of AI initiatives.
- Establish AI engineering best practices, design patterns, and code quality standards.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable AI solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of Python development experience.
- 4+ years of experience delivering AI/ML projects with a focus on production-ready solutions.
- Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals and AI/ML implementation.
- Hands-on experience with GenAI technologies, including LLMs (preferably GPT models), RAG, vector stores, fine-tuning, and agentic frameworks.
- Experience with prompt engineering, structured outputs, model evaluation, hallucination mitigation, regression testing, and enterprise AI safety/guardrails.
- Strong Python programming skills with APIs, pipelines, and AI orchestration.
- Experience using GitHub Copilot for code acceleration and development.
- Strong SQL skills, including query writing, joins, indexing, and designing data access patterns for AI applications.
- Experience implementing RAG architectures, ingestion pipelines, chunking strategies, vector search, indexing, similarity search, and metadata filtering.
- Experience with MCP patterns, tool/context integration, MCP servers, and agentic workflows, including multi-agent collaboration.
- Experience supporting AI solutions in production, including logging, monitoring, tracing, prompt/model monitoring, drift detection, and quality regression.
- Experience with Git, software design principles, testing, and version control.
- Java/ReactJS experience is optional.
- Microsoft Fabric and Azure experience is preferred.
