Python Developer

Contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Modernize and enhance financial accounting and forecasting applications for improved performance and scalability.
• Develop and maintain core forecasting engine features.
• Support quarterly financial reporting by monitoring production processes and resolving issues.
• Troubleshoot defects, reduce technical debt, and improve application quality.
• Write clean, production-grade Python code with unit and integration tests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Implement new forecasting capabilities and support platform upgrades, migrations, and technology adoption.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and technical documentation.

• 5+ years of hands-on Python software development experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years with an advanced degree.
• Experience with Git, SQL, and relational databases.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in Shell scripting for automation and support.
• Experience with automated testing using frameworks such as Pytest or JUnit.
• Understanding of fixed income concepts, including Duration, Convexity, Spread, and OAS.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
