Job Description

We are seeking a Business Analyst with strong knowledge of the mortgage banking industry and experience supporting business and technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will understand the end-to-end mortgage underwriting lifecycle, possess working knowledge of SQL, and be comfortable working in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and support business processes across the mortgage lifecycle, including loan processing, underwriting, closing, and funding.
  • Apply knowledge of the secondary mortgage market, including mortgage remedy and repurchase processes.
  • Use basic SQL queries to investigate system issues, identify trends, and support data analysis.
  • Analyze mortgage-related data and understand key concepts such as Loan-to-Value (LTV), Debt-to-Income (DTI), income, assets, and liabilities.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams in an Agile project environment.
  • Translate complex business or technical information into clear, easy-to-understand communication for stakeholders with varying levels of expertise.
  • Build strong relationships and effectively influence stakeholders to gain alignment and acceptance in sensitive or complex situations.
  • Prepare business documentation, presentations, reports, and analysis using Microsoft Office tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong mortgage banking industry knowledge, including the end-to-end underwriting process.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for basic data analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, and SharePoint.
  • Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
