Contract Senior Software Developer
Job Description
Seeking a Senior Software Developer to support and enhance an enterprise forecasting platform used for long-term financial projections, strategic planning, and financial reporting. The role involves developing and modernizing forecasting applications, supporting critical production runs, and collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver new forecasting capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance forecasting engine features to improve accuracy, scalability, and performance.
- Refactor and modernize existing application components.
- Support critical financial reporting production runs and troubleshoot issues.
- Diagnose defects, reduce technical debt, and implement continuous improvements.
- Write clean, high-quality code with automated unit and integration testing.
- Collaborate across data, API, services, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Partner with FP&A and business stakeholders to implement new forecasting capabilities and support scenario analysis.
- Assist with platform migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and technology adoption.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and technical documentation.
Required Skills:
- Strong software development experience with Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Hands-on experience with Java Spring and Spring Boot.
- Experience with Angular or React frameworks.
- Experience using Git in a team-based environment.
- Familiarity with Unix shell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and Agile development experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative fields.
- Experience gathering requirements and collaborating with business stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA.
