Contract Data Engineer
Job Description
- Build and maintain scalable, high-performance data pipelines.
- Develop data ingestion, transformation, and data quality solutions.
- Create reliable data models and data export processes for business and analytics needs.
- Support production environments by troubleshooting and resolving data pipeline issues.
- Write unit, integration, and functional tests for new features.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technology evaluations, code reviews, and best practice initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
- 3+ years of cloud experience with Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL.
- Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (preferred) or other relational databases.
- Experience with stored procedures, triggers, and SQL performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with Spark, Databricks, or similar big data technologies.
- Experience using Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Proven experience building scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines and data lakes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with technical and business teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with HL7, X12 EDI, or FHIR healthcare data standards.
- Knowledge of REST APIs.
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
