Contract Python Developer
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Modernize and enhance financial accounting and forecasting applications for improved performance and scalability.
- Develop and maintain core forecasting engine features.
- Support quarterly financial reporting by monitoring production processes and resolving issues.
- Troubleshoot defects, reduce technical debt, and improve application quality.
- Write clean, production-grade Python code with unit and integration tests.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Implement new forecasting capabilities and support platform upgrades, migrations, and technology adoption.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and technical documentation.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on Python software development experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years with an advanced degree.
- Experience with Git, SQL, and relational databases.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in Shell scripting for automation and support.
- Experience with automated testing using frameworks such as Pytest or JUnit.
- Understanding of fixed income concepts, including Duration, Convexity, Spread, and OAS.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
